Today I was talking with Jonathan and I mentioned my enthusiasm about a project I’m working on, I said “Tomorrow is the day I find out if it works.”
The culmination of quite a bit of work.
He seemed bewildered, and asked, “Don’t you already know that it’ll work?”
This gave me pause. How perspicacious. Indeed I did already know it would work, what I meant to say, and what I said next was that “Tomorrow is the day when I find out what it feels like when it works.”
Most of the time, even when we do new things, we know they’ll work. We just don’t yet know what it feels like to experience them working.
What are you uncertain of, that you really should be certain of, and instead you really just wonder about what it’ll feel like to experience success?
